Item CHOLERA PREDICTION MODEL USING FEATURE CLUSTERING BAYESIAN TECHNIQUE(School of Mathematics and Computing, Kampala International University, 2021-12-31) Ya’u Nuhu; Yusuf Musa Malgwi; Abdullahi, Adamu Garba; Usman Muhammad BalaCholera is one the most deadly disease that is mostly caused due by poor sanitation or and drinking contaminated water or food with a bacterium called Vibrio Cholera. Many researchers have provided a solution to prevent the outbreak of cholera using various methods, the recent ones are using machine learning techniques and some mathematical methods such as mathematical epidemiological, spatial statistics, and based on association rule mining using the nonstandard distribution dataset to mention a few. These few methods are mostly used in predicting cholera outbreaks but have some limitations, such as using fewer features for prediction, waiting until certain cases are reported before getting data, based on Rainfall, based on the flowing speed of rivers, wind direction, and flood, etc. in this research a more comprehensive cholera features would be used in predicting an outbreak before it occurs based on the existing secondary dataset using The Naïve Bayesian Classification technique. The proposed model has more features and is not dependent on certain events to occur before predicting any outbreak. Python programming was used in implementing the proposed model. An accuracy of 99% was achieved and it shows it is better than the previous models used in predicting cholera outbreaks.Item A Study on Cybersecurity Awareness Among Students in Yobe State University, Nigeria(Research Trend, 2020-07-18) Abdullahi, Adamu Garba; Maheyzah Md. Therefore, if any organization does’t arrange themselves for such instances, it’s likely that vital significant digital evidence will be damage. In other word an organization should has a digital forensic readiness framework (DFR). DFR is the capacity of anyassociation to exploit its prospective to use digital evidence whilst minimizing the cost of investigation. Subsequently, in order to prepare organizations for incident responds, the application of digital forensic readiness policies and procedures is important. Contemporary lack of forensic skills is one of the factors that make organizations reluctant to implement digital forensics. This project propose a holistic-based framework of DFR and investigate how it can be applied to Zenith Bank Plc. This paper surveys existing frameworks to identify the best-suited practical components for Zenith Bank’s operational unitItem A LIGHTWEIGHT AUTHENTICATION TECHNIQUE FOR SECURE COMMUNICATION OF EDGE/FOG DATA-CENTERS(Readers Insight Publisher, 2020-05-13) Yahuza, Muktar; Idris, Mohd Yamani Idna; Wahab, Ainuddin Wahid Abdul; Abdullahi, Adamu Garba; Musa, Mahadi A.Edge computing has significantly enhanced the capabilities of cloud computing. Edge data-centres are used for storing data of the end-user devices. Secure communication between the legitimate edge data-centres during the load balancing process has attracted industrial and academic researchers. Recently, Puthal et al. have proposed a technique for authenticating edge datacenters to enable secure load balancing. However, the resource-constraint nature of the edge data-centres is ignored. The scheme is characterized by complex computation and memory intensive cryptographic protocol. It is also vulnerable to key escrow attack because the secret key used for encrypting and decrypting of the communicated messages is been created by the trusted cloud datacenter. Additionally, the key sharing phase of their algorithm is complex. Therefore, to address the highlighted challenges, this paper proposed a lightweight key escrow-less authentication algorithm that will ensure secure communication of resource-constrained edge data-centres during the load balancing process. The security capability of the proposed scheme has been formally evaluated using the automatic cryptographic analytical tool ProVerif. The relatively low computation and communication costs of the proposed scheme compared to the benchmark schemes proved that it is lightweight, thus suitable for resource-constrained edge datacenters.Item An assessment of cybersecurity awareness level among Northeastern University students in Nigeria(International Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2022-02-01) Abdullahi, Adamu Garba; Maheyzah Muhamad Siraj; Siti Hajar OthmanThe world economy today has adopted the internet as a medium of transactions, this has made many organizations use the internet for their daily activities. Researchers have conducted much research to provide a solution on how to increase the level of cybersecurity awareness. The methods used by various researchers include qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches to determine the level of cybersecurity awareness. This paper aims to identify the most critical questions asked using the quantitative approach as it is the most commonly used method. The paper examines a dataset used in the work of Al-Janabi and Al-Shourbaji using an unsupervised machine learning technique known as Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to identify the most critical questions. The result from the analysis indicates that only the first six PCs have eigenvalues greater than 1, which means that these components (i.e., questions) are the most crucial to be used in identifying the most accurate level of cybersecurity awareness. Furthermore, the result provides a new dimension of questions to be used in determining the awareness level as it has been verified using the PCA technique. The paper also gives further recommendations on how to increase the level of cybersecurity awareness among both the public and private sectors.Item An Explanatory Review on Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Models(Advances in Science, Technology and Engineering Systems Journal, 2020-08-28) Abdullahi, Adamu Garba; Muhamad Siraj, Maheyzah; Othman, Siti HajarCybersecurity is growing exponentially day by day in both the public and private sectors.
