Item Behavioural Factors Effect on Investors' Investment Performance(Wseas Transactions on Business and Economics, 2023-02-02) Bekweri Mark Edeh; Abbas Umar Ibrahim; Maitala Faiza; Cross Ogohi DanielBehavioural finance theory posited that the actions of individual investors have demonstrated that people appear to respond to and perceive the same information differently, generating psychological biases that are defined as Behavioural Factors. It is against this backdrop that this study empirically examines the effect of behavioural factors on investment performance. This study examines behavioural factors (Heuristics, Prospects, Herding, and Market) that influence stock investors’ performance in Nigeria’s capital market. Three hundred and eighty-four (384) respondents were sampled by an online survey method through a questionnaire from active investors using the top ten brokerage firms in Nigeria. Data were examined and analyzed by STATA software using the structural equation model technique (SEM) as the statistical tool. The data revealed a considerable positive link between behavioural factors indicators and investment performance. The study, therefore, recommends that NSE should continuously share information, and train the investors, which is geared towards positively influencing investment decisions. Through this information, investors will be in a position to make wise investment decisions. NSE should also evaluate the influences of prior events in relation to the specific counter under investigation. More so the effect of the learning process should be clearly evaluated to ensure that there is maximum benefit for all parties involved in selling and buying a security share.Item The influence of Income, Product Country Image on Consumer Behaviour in Nigeria(International Journal of Management Studies and Social Science Research, 2023-02-02) Alfa Abubakar; Abubakar Hadiza Saidu; Cross Ogohi DanielThis study examined the relationship between Income, Product Country Image and Consumer Behaviour among rice consumers in Nigeria. The study adopts a correlation research design and employs a questionnaire to collect primary data from 494 respondents in Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, and Kebbi States in 2023. In the process of collecting data, 600 questionnaires were distributed equally to respondents in the five states out of which 545 were returned. 51 of the returned questionnaires were rejected. Therefore, there is response rate of 82%. The study employed formula for calculation of the sample size of an unknown population to arrive at 323 respondents, but in order to avoid non-response biasness; the study increased the sampling size to 600. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) regression technique is employed to analyse the data using SmartPLS 4 statistical software. The study is supported by Reasoned Action Theory and Engel's Income Effect theory. The findings show that Income and Product Country Image, have a significant impact on Consumer Behaviour. The study conducts relevant reliability and validity tests to ensure the consistencies of the constructs. In the process, the study contributes that both Income and Product Country Image influence Behaviour of rice consumers in Nigeria and this provides implications for marketers and policymakers in Nigeria.Item Evaluating the Management of Public Private Partnerships for the Provision of Affordable Housing in Nigeria(Scientific Research Publishing, 2022-02-02) Abel Eseoghene Owotemu; Cross Ogohi Daniel; Abubakar Hadiza SaiduThe Impact of Public Private Partnership is beginning to be more pronounced in emerging markets like Kenya and Nigeria as a preferred means for the delivery of Infrastructure and Housing. In terms of its popularity, the adoption and growth of Public private partnerships has been traced to under performance of Government Budgeting and lack of sufficient funding available to government for financing the different strategically important and development focused projects (including Social Housing), this is also in addition to governments poor risk management capabilities. The challenges facing public funding and its impact on the country’s development have increased the potential for public-private partnerships as an alternative to infrastructure and housing. The study examined the impact of public-private partnerships on affordable housing in Nigeria. It also includes other purposes; examining the impact of management contracts on the provision of affordable housing in Nigeria to identify the impact of the joint venture on the provision of affordable housing in Nigeria. The research adopted the survey research plan and used a structured questionnaire as a tool for data collection. Data analysis was performed in addition to mean and percentage descriptive statistics, as well as correlation and regression analysis. The results showed that Build Own Operate & Transfer Policy has a significant impact on the provision of affordable housing in Nigeria and Lease Contracts has a positive impact on the provision of affordable housing in Nigeria. The study concludes that for public-private partnerships to flourish and achieve affordable housing, each partnership must identify measures of success, be able to quantify and monitor their performance, and identify and address emerging issues. It was suggested that the government take responsibility for ensuring that an enabling institutional environment and infrastructure is provided to support PPP execution. It was also proposed that the government adopt and establish a Viability Gap funding framework to attract private sector participation. As alternative and effective sources of funding will promote affordability and enable public-private partnerships to thrive for the identification, development, funding, implementation, and successful management of affordable housing PPP’s in Nigeria.ng framework to attract private sector participation. The study investigated the Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on Internally Displaced Persons in North-East, Nigeria. Also other objectives includes to examine the impact of social responsibility on Internally Displaced Children in North East, Nigeria, and to evaluate the impact of economic responsibility on internally displaced elderly persons in North East. The researcher adopted the cross sectional research design and structured questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. The simple random sampling technique was adopted in the study. Data analysis was committed to descriptive statistics of mean and percentages as well as correlation and regression analysis. The results showed that Social responsibility does have positive impact on Internally Displaced Children in North East, Nigeria; Economic responsibility does have positive impact on internally displaced elderly persons in North East, Nigeria. The study concludes corporate social responsibility has emerged as a form of sustainability governance with advantages to the economic, environment and social progress of the Internally Displaced Person’s at 5% level of significance. It was recommended that corporate social responsibility of the companies should be more environmentally demanded rather than Marjory from angle of ethical consideration and philanthropic obligations.Item Effect of Enterprises Management on the Performance of Poultry Farming in North Central Nigeria(Design Construction Maintenance, 2023-02-02) Nwaubani, Rex Ugochukwu; Cross Ogohi Daniel; Nwoye May Ifeoma; Abubakar Hadiza SaiduIn Nigeria, despite the enormous contribution of MSMEs to the development of the agricultural sector is plagued by severe funding constraints. This study investigates the effect of enterprise management on the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Scale poultry farming in North Central Nigeria. Other specific objectives are: Examine the extent to which strategic orientation affects the growth of poultry farmers in North Central Nigeria, Investigate how resource orientation influences the profitability of poultry farming in North Central Nigeria, Evaluatethe degree to which management structure improve the performance of poultry farming in North Central Nigeria, Examine the extent to which growth orientation influence the performance of poultry farming in North Central Nigeria, Examine the extent to which entrepreneurial culture influence the performance of poultry farming in North Central Nigeria, Investigate the effect of Reward philosophy on profitability of poultry farming in Nigeria. The study utilized mixed methods research design based on a population of five hundred and six (506) registered livestock farmers across North Central comprising of Kogi, Benue, Plateau, Niger, Kwara, Nasarawa and Abuja from which a multi-stage sample of two hundred and twenty-three (223) sample arrived using Taro Yamane’s size calculation formula. The data collected through a well-structured questionnaire was analyzed using both simple percentage and regression analysis at, 0.05 alpha level of significance. The study found that there is a significant and positive relationship between strategic orientation, management structure, entrepreneurial culture and business growth, profitability and business sustainability of poultry farming. It was also found that assets strategic orientation has a significant positive effect on business growth. In addition, the study found that management structure has a positive significant effect on profitability. Finally, it was established that government subsidies is a common denominator used in promoting business sustainability for young graduate poultry farmers. The study submitted that enterprise management play a significant role in promoting economic the growth of poultry farming operating in the agricultural sector. Among others, the study recommended that financial and technical support should be provided for small-scale business enterprises across sectors especially those into poultry farming. Also, the government should provide conducive macroeconomics that will raise the creation of decent jobs through the Agricultural sector.Item Effect of Cost Estimation on Project Performance in Construction Firms in Abuja(Turkish Online Journal of Qualitative Inquiry (TOJQI), 2022-02-02) Ike Egboga; Cross Ogohi Daniel; Abubakar Hauwa LaminoAdverse profitability in the construction industry is associated with the organizational leaders’ inability to accurately estimate project costs and manage project schedules. This results to high rate of abandoned project and building, to be able to boost of successful completed projects, effective and efficient cost estimation and planning is the very key. The study investigated the effect of cost estimation on project performance in construction firms in Abuja. The objectives of the study are; To determine the effect of bottom up cost estimating and parametric cost estimating on the realization of work scope / specifications in construction firms in Abuja, To assess the impact of bottom up cost estimating and parametric cost estimating on time / schedule performance in construction firms in Abuja, To ascertain the impact of bottom up cost estimating and parametric cost estimating on cost performance in construction firms in Abuja. The researcher adopted the descriptive research design and structured questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. The purposive sampling technique was adopted in the study. Data analysis was committed to descriptive statistics of mean and percentages as well as inferential statistics of correlation and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that both bottom-up estimation and parametric cost estimating are both positively and significantly influenced by scope/specifications, time/schedule and cost. The study concludes that project managers need to be cognizant of this relationship and focus on developing estimates and schedules using modern project management tools that would project accurate costs and schedules. It was recommended that for successful completion of projects, construction project managers should be fully abreast of cost estimating techniques through intensive training awareness and the use of both bottom up and parametric estimating techniques be adopted for construction projects as appropriate.Item Effect of Female Entrepreneurial Experience on Start-Ups of Educational Institutions(Wseas Transactions on Business and Economics, 2022-02-02) Ngele Anthonia Nnebuife; Abubakar Hauwa Lamino; Nwoye May Ifeoma; Cross Ogohi DanielThis study evinced the cruciality of female entrepreneurial experience as a gainful propeller of start-up educational institutions in North-Central Nigeria. The focal aim of this study is to ascertain the effect of female entrepreneurial experience on start-ups specifically in the educational sector, which over the years recorded a tremendous influx of female entrepreneurs. A descriptive research design was adopted as the framework for this study and the population of the study comprised 43,470 female educators within the North-Central region of Nigeria. The Cochran sample size determination technique was used to obtain the sample size of 385 respondents. Bowley's allocation formula was adopted to determine the sample size of each North-Central state while simple random and purposive sampling was used to select participants. The questionnaires were structured in a 5-point Likert scale as a validity and reliability test was conducted to ensure their credibility. Data retrieved were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics via the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25 statistical tool. The results of the regression analysis validated the data at a 0.05 significance level. The findings revealed that socio-cultural expectations, exceptional economic support, social networking, innovation, and self-efficacy have a significant effect on the growth of educational institutions in North-Central Nigeria. Hence the study concludes that female entrepreneurial experience adversely affects the growth of educational institutions and start-ups in North-Central Nigeria. The study recommends that good government policies geared towards equal support of female entrepreneurs as endorsed by the liberal view of the feminist-based entrepreneurship theory.Item Impact of Training and Development on the Performance of Public Hospitals in Abuja-FCT, Nigeria(Scientific Research Publishing Inc., 2022-02-02) Yusuf Salami; Cross Ogohi Daniel; Muritala Taiwo Adewale; Abbas Umar IbrahimToday, the business environment is highly competitive and faced with continuously changing technology. Globalization and the changing needs of customers contribute to the challenges of business organizations. To meet up these challenges, organizations need to properly and continuously train and develop their employees. As a result, this research looks into the impact of training and development on the performance of public hospitals in Abuja-FCT, Nigeria. The distribution of a structured questionnaire was required by a survey research design of a (5-point Likert scale). 353 from the total population of 2997 randomly selected employees in the Fourteen (14) general hospitals in Abuja-FCT, Nigeria. 305 questionnaires were filled out by the respondents. Hypotheses tests were carried out and they revealed that there was a major connection between orientation as a training and development method and patient waiting time.
