Item The influence of Income, Product Country Image on Consumer Behaviour in Nigeria(International Journal of Management Studies and Social Science Research, 2023-02-02) Alfa Abubakar; Abubakar Hadiza Saidu; Cross Ogohi DanielThis study examined the relationship between Income, Product Country Image and Consumer Behaviour among rice consumers in Nigeria. The study adopts a correlation research design and employs a questionnaire to collect primary data from 494 respondents in Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, and Kebbi States in 2023. In the process of collecting data, 600 questionnaires were distributed equally to respondents in the five states out of which 545 were returned. 51 of the returned questionnaires were rejected. Therefore, there is response rate of 82%. The study employed formula for calculation of the sample size of an unknown population to arrive at 323 respondents, but in order to avoid non-response biasness; the study increased the sampling size to 600. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) regression technique is employed to analyse the data using SmartPLS 4 statistical software. The study is supported by Reasoned Action Theory and Engel's Income Effect theory. The findings show that Income and Product Country Image, have a significant impact on Consumer Behaviour. The study conducts relevant reliability and validity tests to ensure the consistencies of the constructs. In the process, the study contributes that both Income and Product Country Image influence Behaviour of rice consumers in Nigeria and this provides implications for marketers and policymakers in Nigeria.Item Effects Of Supply Chain Management (Scm) On The Competitive Advantage Of Selected Indigenous Automobile Companies In Nigeria(International Journal of Social Sciences and Management Review, 2025-02-02) Bello Adewale Toheeb; Abubakar Hadiza SaiduThis study examined the effects of Supply Chain Management (SCM) on the competitive advantage of selected indigenous automobile companies in Nigeria, emphasizing the significance of raw material sourcing and product design on cost efficiency and consumer loyalty. The research employs a positivist philosophy with a descriptive and survey-based design, combining quantitative data from 50 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and staff from three indigenous automobile companies. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data, and multiple regression and correlation analyses were conducted using SPSS to explore the relationships between raw material sourcing, product design, cost efficiency, and consumer loyalty. Findings from this research highlight the strategic importance of SCM in achieving cost efficiency through efficient raw material sourcing and in building stronger customer loyalty via sustainable product design. This study investigates the impact of green product demand on brand performance. Despite the attention paid by FMCG firms in Nigeria to green product demand (green product design and green promotion), brand reputation still needs to improve. The study used a descriptive survey approach, using 121 workers from the identified firms as participants. The total sample size for the research was 121. A systematic questionnaire was used to obtain information from respondents using primary data. In addition, Cronbach's alpha and the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20.00 were used in this study to regress the data obtained from the respondents. The results show that green product demand [green product design (.01+2.24) and green advertising (.01+1.41)] had a positive and significant impact on FMCG brand performance (brand reputation) in Nigeria. Based on this finding, the study recommends that the chosen FMCG's managers and quality control department continue to use green product demand to improve brand performance. This is the new method of getting product consumers to be more patriotic by helping build a better brand reputation for the organisation. MuhammadThis study aims to determine employee wellbeing as a mediating effect on the relationship between technological change and employee performance of Manufacturing Companies in Kaduna state, Nigeria. The study is a cross-sectional study and a survey research design was employed. The sample population of this study comprised employees of 25 selected manufacturing companies in Kaduna state. Data were collected through a structured online survey questionnaire. The hypotheses tested found that technological change has effect on employee performance. Technological change significantly related to employee wellbeing. Employee wellbeing is positively and significantly related to employee performance. Employee wellbeing significantly mediates the relationship between technological change and employee performance of Manufacturing Companies in Kaduna state, Nigeria. Study shows technological change benefits employee wellbeing by empowering staff, reducing workload, enhancing job satisfaction, and balancing work and personal life, emphasizing the importance of supportive work environments.Item Effect of Political Environment on the Performance of Salwa Table Water(Creative Business Research Journal, 2023-02-02) Abubakar Hadiza Saidu; Isyaka Mohammed SalisuThe study examined the effect political environment on the performance of Salwa table water. Data were collected using questionnaire administered to the staff of Salwa table water in Gombe State. The independent variable is political environment which is proxies by on trade regulations, labour laws, environmental laws and import tariffs, while the dependent variable is the performance of Salwa table water, Gombe. The population is made up of 49 respondents. Chi-square was used to analyse the data. The result showed that there is significant relationship between political environment and the performance of Salwa table water. The study recommended that minimizing government policy inconsistencies on trade regulations, labour laws, environmental laws and import tariffs would enhance predictability. The study concludes that government policy inconsistency should be minimized to aid its predictability and regulatory agencies enforcing compliance on regulations of business operations.Item Effect of Enterprises Management on the Performance of Poultry Farming in North Central Nigeria(Design Construction Maintenance, 2023-02-02) Nwaubani, Rex Ugochukwu; Cross Ogohi Daniel; Nwoye May Ifeoma; Abubakar Hadiza SaiduIn Nigeria, despite the enormous contribution of MSMEs to the development of the agricultural sector is plagued by severe funding constraints. This study investigates the effect of enterprise management on the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Scale poultry farming in North Central Nigeria. Other specific objectives are: Examine the extent to which strategic orientation affects the growth of poultry farmers in North Central Nigeria, Investigate how resource orientation influences the profitability of poultry farming in North Central Nigeria, Evaluatethe degree to which management structure improve the performance of poultry farming in North Central Nigeria, Examine the extent to which growth orientation influence the performance of poultry farming in North Central Nigeria, Examine the extent to which entrepreneurial culture influence the performance of poultry farming in North Central Nigeria, Investigate the effect of Reward philosophy on profitability of poultry farming in Nigeria. The study utilized mixed methods research design based on a population of five hundred and six (506) registered livestock farmers across North Central comprising of Kogi, Benue, Plateau, Niger, Kwara, Nasarawa and Abuja from which a multi-stage sample of two hundred and twenty-three (223) sample arrived using Taro Yamane’s size calculation formula. The data collected through a well-structured questionnaire was analyzed using both simple percentage and regression analysis at, 0.05 alpha level of significance. The study found that there is a significant and positive relationship between strategic orientation, management structure, entrepreneurial culture and business growth, profitability and business sustainability of poultry farming. It was also found that assets strategic orientation has a significant positive effect on business growth. In addition, the study found that management structure has a positive significant effect on profitability. Finally, it was established that government subsidies is a common denominator used in promoting business sustainability for young graduate poultry farmers. The study submitted that enterprise management play a significant role in promoting economic the growth of poultry farming operating in the agricultural sector. Among others, the study recommended that financial and technical support should be provided for small-scale business enterprises across sectors especially those into poultry farming. Also, the government should provide conducive macroeconomics that will raise the creation of decent jobs through the Agricultural sector.Item Effect Of Income On Xenocentrism And Rice Consumers' Behaviour In Northwest Nigeria(Journal Of Law And Sustainable Development, 2024-02-02) Alfa Abubakar; Abubakar Hadiza Saidu; Abubakar Hauwa Lamino; Joseph Olorunfemi Akande; Ahmed Oluwatobi AdekunleObjective: This research investigated how income moderates the impact of xenocentrism on the behaviour of rice consumers in northwest Nigeria. Xenocentrism, in this context, is gauged through foreign brand admiration, perceived product quality, and the image of the product's country of origin. Method: Employing a correlation research design, the study collected data via questionnaires administered to 494 participants from five states in northwest Nigeria in 2023. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) regression technique, facilitated by SmartPLS 4 statistical software, was utilized for data analysis. Results: Results indicate that foreign brand admiration and the image of the product's country of origin significantly and positively influence rice consumers' behaviour. Moreover, the study reveals that income plays a moderating role in the relationship between perceived product quality, the image of the product's country of origin, and rice consumers' behaviour. Conclusion: To enhance acceptance and support for locally produced rice, the study recommends that the Nigerian government and rice producers in the country focus on enhancing the national image and overall quality of their products.Item Advertisement and Consumers Behaviour among Selected Manufacturing Firms in FCT Abuja(The European Centre for Research Training and Development UK, 2025-02-02) Babayemi Oduyingbo Joshua; Abdulrahman Shehu Ahmadu; Grace Udo; Abubakar Hadiza SaiduThis study examines the impact of advertising on consumer behavior in the context of selected manufacturing firms in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The research focuses on the effects of advertisement frequency, social media advertising, ad content personalization, and advertisement format on brand loyalty, purchasing decisions, consumer engagement, and consumer recall. Using a descriptive cross-sectional survey, the study gathered data from 400 consumers of Dangote Group, Nestle Nigeria PLC, Unilever Nigeria, Cadbury Nigeria, and Friesland Campina products. The findings reveal a significant positive relationship between advertisement frequency and brand loyalty, indicating that frequent exposure to advertisements strengthens consumer attachment to a brand. Additionally, personalized ad content was found to significantly influence consumer engagement, while advertisement format was a key factor in consumer recall. However, social media advertising showed a weaker impact on purchasing decisions in the context of Abuja. Based on these findings, the study recommends that manufacturing firms increase advertisement frequency, refine social media strategies, focus on personalized advertising, and invest in creative advertisement formats to improve consumer engagement and recall. The research highlights the importance of strategic advertising in shaping consumer behavior and strengthening brand loyalty in a competitive market.Item A Review On Islamic Corporate Governance And Performance Of Islamic Financial Institutions In Nigeria(UMYU Journal of Accounting and Finance Research, 2023-02-02) Sa’adatu Balarabe Adam; Abubakar Hadiza SaiduIslamic financial institutions are essential catalyst to economic growth in Nigeria and their performance assumed to be influenced by corporate governance practices. The purpose of this study is to review the role of Islamic corporate governance on the IFIs performance in Nigeria. Even though the relationships have produced significant scholarly impact, few studies have been conducted on IFIs performance in Nigeria. The content analysis was utilized. The findings of the study revealed that corporate governance is significant to IFIs’ performance in Nigeria. This study contributes to the existing literature on corporate governance practices and IFIs’ performance in Nigeria. Finally, the study’s implications for theory and practice, limitations, conclusion as well as the direction for future research are provided and discussed.
