Item A Recommended Digital Forensic Readiness Framework For Nigerian Banks(International Journal of Development Research, 2019-08-28) Abdullahi, Adamu Garba; Aliyu Musa BadeWith the coming of the internet manual method of doing businesses has change dramatically to a computerized way of doing operations, similarly it also possess a threat to information security. Consequently, organizations’ that fells to address or take serious security measures are likely to fall under cyber-attacks, therefore vital information will be damage. To minimize such occurrences in both public and private organization there is a need to have digital forensic framework that they will be used in other to protect sensitive information from being compromise. Digital forensic framework (DFR) helps to exploit the use of evidence and also reducing the cost of investigation. Moreover, to prepare an organization for incident respond DFR policies and procedures are important to be implemented. Therefor this paper has proposed a framework that will be used to minimize attacks to sensitive information by cyber attackers, the framework was designed by surveying the existing frameworks available so as to find the suitable components to be used in Nigerian banking sectors and a qualitative approach was used to seek expert view on the proposed framework, the results shows the components are likely to be used in most financial sector in Nigeria as it covers the major components needed for investigations.Item A Review On Security Issues In Wireless Sensor Networks(International Journal of Recent Academic Research, 2019-08-21) Aliyu Musa Bade; Abdullahi, Adamu GarbaWith increasing dependency on technology, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) had gained more and more popularity in the areas of communication, sensing and computing among investors as well as researchers over the years. The proceeds had since been able to simplify complexity in sensing networks, revealing previously unnoticed observable facts. Major research activities being carried out in this field includes deployment, localization, synchronization, architecture, middleware, security, designing less power consuming devices, abstractions and higher level algorithms for sensor specific issues. However, WSN designs still exhibits security issues in their applications that are of concern. This paper explains a synopsis of ongoing research activities, various security problems involved in wireless sensor networks and possible solutions. The paper also reviewed into the various types of successful attacks carried out on these devices to provide future researchers with clues on how to improve their designsItem An Investigation on Recent Cyber Security Frameworks as Guidelines for Organizations Adoption(International Journal of Innovative Science and Research Technology, 2021-02-02) Abdullahi, Adamu Garba; Aliyu Musa BadeCybersecurity knowledge is knowledge for all, as many organizations activities operate via the internet and also as the results of the current pandemic the world is facing (Covid 19). This situation has further forced many organizations to use the internet for their daily operation, on the other hand, cybercriminals have gotten a chance for launching more attacks on many organizations. Cybersecurity is a method of protecting organization assets, through the identification of threats that can compromise the critical information stored in the organization systems, it also involves the protection, identification, and responding to threats. The method adopted in conducting the comparative analysis was from Halverson and Conradi's taxonomy of software process improvement taxonomy. The paper aims to provide a detailed review of the current cybersecurity frameworks that can serve as a guideline for the organization in selecting the appropriate framework for their organization and also as a benchmark for future cyber security framework design.Item Cybersecurity capability maturity models review and application domain(International Journal of Engineering & Technology, 2020-09-02) Abdullahi, Adamu Garba; Aliyu Musa Bade; Muktar Yahuza; Ya'u NuhuCybersecurity is a way of protecting organization critical assets, through the identification of cyber threats that can compromise the information stored, it involves the protection, identification, and responding to threats. The main aim of this article is to conduct an ample review of the published cybersecurity capability maturity models using a systematic review of published articles from 2014 to 2019. Features of Hal- vorsen and Conradi’s taxonomy were adopted to explain the models identified. The results indicated adopting a model to a certain organization is not feasible. However, modification is required before implementation, as the cost of implementation is not available when conducting this research.Item Investigating the Cybersecurity Awareness on Internet Addiction in Yobe State University Damaturu(International Journal of Advances in Engineering and Management, 2024-04-24) Aliyu Musa Bade; Abdullahi, Adamu GarbaThe Internet has become a medium of transaction in the global economy, prompting many companies to employ it in their daily operations. As a result, there is an urgent demand for cybersecurity understanding as well as the ability to defend key assets. The purpose of this article is to investigate the level of cybersecurity awareness among students in Northeastern Nigeria regarding internet addiction. Data were collected using a quantitative approach. For the initial result findings, descriptive analysis was performed utilizing OriginPro's graphical design. The preliminary results reveal that students have some moderate understanding of internet addiction however, this is a need for urgent awareness training on how to balance life with and without the internet. Based on responders, Male students account for 77.1% (N=340), while females account for 22.9% (N=101). Future studies would focus on developing awareness initiatives to raise students' awareness, particularly in Nigeria's northeast.
